Sānxīngduī

In the Sìchuān Basin there was a beautiful secret, kept hidden from the world for millennia. Encircled by mountains, the land was incredibly difficult to access. It was known to be home to the Shǔ, also known as The People of the Eye. Why they were called that was a great mystery until more recent times. It’s secret being so important, so very great, that it has even been hailed as “even more important than Xī’ān’s Terracotta Warriors” by some Chinese archaeologists.

I love Gǔ Jiàn.

I love Gǔ Jiàn to the moon and back. I love Gǔ Jiàn to the depths of the oceans. I love Gǔ Jiàn to the boundaries of creation. I love Gǔ Jiàn with the depth of a sincere and whole heart. I love Gǔ Jiàn, and I did then, I do now, I will in the future. I love Gǔ Jiàn eternally.

I am also devastated by its art books, albeit both in different ways.

Mànhuá #2

前世

Qián Shì

This is translated to ‘pre-existence’ or ‘past life’. That is the name of the mànhuá that I completed only hours ago.

It was a one shot, a single little tale comprised in a single chapter. There were twenty pages in total. As such, I have very little to say on this mànhuá.

The story is set in the Jiānghú. As such, there is a great deal of wonder about the setting. The world is portrayed beautifully. As it is so short there are only three or so settings for the story. Each is significant and leads back to each other. For example, the first place that we see is a Dàoist temple. For the few places that we see we are in immediate awe. Continue reading
